WWF Türkiye Nature Pioneers Youth Program

Youths work towards a solution for nature, we lend support. 

We gave support to the Nature Pioneers Youth Program conducted by WWF Turkey and the Ministry of National Education. 

In the scope of this project, 30-hour face-to-face training was provided for 11 secondary school teachers selected from 10 provinces throughout Turkey and these teachers were trained as formators. The trainers reached about 30 to 160 teachers in the nearby cities, and training on climate was provided for 10 thousand children through 1000 teachers in total.  Secondary and high school students contacted within the scope of program created solutions for problems stemmed from climate crisis by employing innovative approaches and the modern technology. They developed innovative and transformative projects in Wildlife Protectors, Water Angels, Plastic Busters, Food Fighters and Carbon Trapper communities.

A Youth Conference was held. The event was attended by Ahmet Berber, Head of Department of the General Directorate of Basic Education of the Ministry of National Education, representatives of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, WWF-Turkey General Manager Aslı Pasinli and our General Manager Ömür Tan. During the conference, author Defne Ongun Müminoğlu talked to children about nature and made a presentation.
