In Thales Math Museum, you can discover the unearthed aspects of math and experience math physically and visually.
“Thales Math Museum moves math from abstract to tangible by using stories to teach children a wide range of topics from binary number system to Pi, Penrose triangle to Leonardo Da Vinci bridge, four-color problem to topological knots, area-radius, circumference-radius, angles, to symmetry as well as Pythagoras theorem, John Nash game theory to secrets of Mimar Sinan’s architecture.
” QNB Thales Virtual Math Museum is waiting for all our children throughout Turkey!
After being sponsor for Thales Math Museum located in Aydın, we launched our QNB Thales Math Museum Travelling TRUCK project. In the scope of our project, children across Turkey had chance to observe in practice what they had learnt in math class and even experienced math through training modules and workshops. Through 42 modules and 5 workshops held on our Travelling Truck, and 85 different modules provided in our museum, our children discovered that math does not only consist of numbers; but they learnt in practice that it is everywhere around us in life including art, architecture, and nature while having fun.
We have reached a total of 106.194 children by visiting 36 cities with the support of our 170 Volunteer Financiers until today. We opened the door to the magical world of math with our children in Provinces of Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Antep, Artvin, Balıkesir, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Erzincan, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Giresun, Hatay, Isparta, İstanbul, İzmir, Karaman, Kars, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Konya, Kütahya, Malatya, Maraş, Mersin, Muğla, Muş, Nevşehir, Rize, Sakarya, Samsun, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, Trabzon, Uşak, Yalova, Yozgat.
We wanted to bestow our project to the children in the context of celebrations of 101th Anniversary of 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children Day and moved it to an online environment under the name of QNB Virtual Math Museum via www.qnbfbtalesmatematikmuzesi.com website. Within the scope of project, we reached a total of approximately 140 thousand children. While maintaining our sponsorship for Thales Math Museum, we can reach all children throughout Turkey via our free online platform.
QNB Tales Virtual Math Museum and the entertaining world of math!
A number of 6000 students from 10 different cities in Turkey will visit Thales Math Museum located in Aydın on designated days and participate in the “A Day in the Museum” activity in the accompany of teachers. Trainers and supervisors will explain the stations installed in the museum. Children will get to know the stations and discover the magical world of math while having fun by means of various workshops.
